Surgeon Darwin Tichnor Brown, M.D.

Darwin T. Brown, son of Dr. Henry B. and Laura (Tichnor) Brown, was born in White River Junction, Vt., November 14, 1838. He prepared for college at Kimball Union Academy and entered the University in 1855, remaining until 1857. He was a student at Genesee College, 1857-58, and graduated from the Berkshire Medical College in 1862. He practiced his profession in Naperville, Ill., 1862-63; Chicago, Ill., 1866-69; and Michigan City, Ind., 1869. He was a surgeon in the United States Army, during 1863-66. He was married July 23, 1864, to Nellie P. Watkins of Lena, N. Y."
