CHARLES H. WAKEFIELD WELL KNOWN RESIDENT
DIED THIS MORNING, A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER
Charles H. Wakefield died at the Soldiers Home after a long illness. He was born in Bath, Me. in 1925, therefore was 85 years old. He served in the Navy during the Civil War as acting third assistant engineer on the frigate Jackson, and was admitted to the Home October 16, 1908. He was well known here, and had a large number of friends. He leaves a wife, but no children.
