Obituary
DEATH OF VETERAN OF THE CIVIL WAR
Thomas Lynde, formerly of Brattleboro, Served in 46th Regiment as Artilleryman.Thomas Lynde, formerly of this town, brother of Lewis H. Lynde of Dummerston and the late William Lynde of Marlboro and Brattleboro, died yesterday in Belchertown, Mass., after having being confined to his room a few weeks. Mr. Lynde was a veteran of the Civil war, serving in the 46th Volunteer regiment and 2d Heavy Artillery.
After the war Mr. Lynde lived here many years, doing various kinds of work, but went away several years ago. He was a member of E.J. Griggs post, G.A.R., of Belchertown, and members of the post assisted in making his last days comfortable. His daughter also was with him a few days before his death.
A prayer service will be held in the home at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning and the body will be brought to Brattleboro for burial.
