The body of James Ballard, an aged veteran of the Civil War, was brought here from Morrisville Saturday for burial. The service at the Congregational church was conducted by the Rev. F. A. Krochheardt, of the Methodist church in the absence of the Rev. W. W. Smith. Mr. Ballard is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Scofield, of Enosburg, and Miss Nellie Ballard of New York, and one son, Charles Ballard. Mr. Ballard resided in the east part of the town for many years. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Carrie Scofield, daughter and son-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Longely, Moses Pearly and daughter, and Miss Belle Stone, of Enosburg Falls.
