Obituary

Funeral of Joseph Rowe

Capt. E.A. Howe, Col. R.E. Hathorn and George A. Petty went to Springfield Friday afternoon to attend the funeral of Joseph Rowe., 82, who died August 4 at the home of Mrs. Frank Whitney. Mr. Rowe was a veteran of the Civil war, belonging to the First Rhode Island cavalry. He was a member of O.O. Howard post, G.A.R., Ludlow. Mr. Rowe was buried in the village cemetery beside the body of his wife. Rev. T.W. Dance of Charlestown, N.H., officiated both at the funeral and committal services. He is survived by two sons, Will Rowe and E.A .Rowe of Charlestown, N.H.
