Obituary
Alpheus P. Barber of Bradford, committed suicide Wednesday morning. He fastened his rifle into a vise in his shop, attached a string to the trigger, threw the string around the guard, placed his breast against the muzzle, and pulled the string. The ball passed entirely through the body and into the wall of the building. No cause is assigned. He was fifty years old, and had no family. A brother and sister killed themselves several years ago.
