Obituary

NATIVE OF MONTPELIER

Orville A. Dodge Died Yesterday in Springfield, Mass.

Springfield, Mass., Jan. 29. Orville A. Dodge, a Civil war veteran, aged 70, died yesterday at his home at 62 Hyde avenue. He was born in Montpelier, Vt., and at the age of 20 came to Springfield and for more than 30 years was employed by the Wason Car company. He enlisted in H Company, 2d Massachusetts Regiment Heavy Artillery, and served throughout the war. He was a member of Hampden lodge of Odd Fellows. Mr. Dodge leaves a wife, two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Luther and Mrs. Nettie Leslie of this city, and a son, Elwin O. Dodge of Hartford. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon and burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Chicopee.
