Mrs. Lucy Kaiser, Civil War Nurse, Passes Away

Traverse City, Oct. 1. - Mrs. Lucy L. Kaiser, aged ninety, died here today. She was born in Addison county, Vermont, and moved to Chicago in 1850. At the outbreak of the Civil war she offered her services as nurse and was mustered into the regular service where she served nearly four years. She nursed wounded at Shiloh during the siege of Vicksburg and in many battles, and was personally acquainted with Gen. Grant and Gen. Prentiss. Burial will be in St. Charles, Ill.
