Mrs. Edwin C. Bigelow received word Sunday of the death of her husband at the Brattleboro Retreat. About two years ago Mr. Bigelow had a severe attack of the grip, from the effects of which he never recovered and which so affected his mind that in July 1897 it was thought best that he go to the Retreat for treatment. Since then he has steadily failed until the end. The deceased was born in Brookfield in April, 1837, and at one time lived in the north part of Bethel on the farm now owned by Thomas Connolly. He is survived by his wife, who is a sister of Mrs. A. L. Stearns, and by one son, Carl, who is express agent at Dallas, Tex.
