Death Notices

Oliver David (sic) Hibbard, 80 years old, died at the home of his nephew, Clarence Hibbard, 539 Twenty-eighth street, at 4:50 o'clock this morning from a stroke of paralysis, although he had not been well for some time. Mr. Hibbard had lived in Rock Island for eight years, coming here from Iowa Falls, where he had lived 25 or 30 years. He was born Jan 14, 1840, in Montpelier (sic), Vt. The only near surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Emma Hibbar of Rock Island, and his nephew.

Mr. Hibbard was a veteran of the Civil war, having fought for three years with a company of Vermont volunteers. It was after the war that he came west.
