Biography

JOHN C. CANERDY enlisted from Duxbury, his native town at the age of IS. He was one of the first to succumb to disease. While we were encamped at Fairfax Court House, he was attacked with typhoid fever and died at the post hospital January 20. 1863, the day the regiment moved to Wolf Run Shoals.
