Obituary

The funeral of Jesse Cook, who passed away Dec. 25, was held at the church last week Tuesday afternoon. The local pastor, Rev. I.S. Williams, officiated. Fred Billings, Wells Porter, Baxter Roberts and Will Patten were bearers. Burial was in Pine Tree cemetery beside his second wife. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were his son, Will Cook of Waltham, Mass., several relatives from Post Mills and South Fairlee and Mrs. Illa Huse Cook of White River Junction. The grandson, Lester Cook, lived with him. Mr. Cook was a Civil war veteran. The stars and stripes were draped near the casket and covered it while being conveyed to the grave.
