January 11. -- Augustus J. Crane, aged 75 years, died at his home on North street Saturday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in Co. D, 10th Vermont regiment. He was a member of W. C. Dunton Post and was its quartermaster. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Philip of Rutland and Cleaves Crane; five daughters, Mrs. Walter Wright and Mrs. J. F. Daniels of this town, Mrs. H. L. Rivers of Burlington, Mrs. Ira Gove and Mrs. Eugene Narmore of Greenfield, Mass.
