Philo Davis, an old and respected citizen of this town, died of pneumonia and other complications Friday, the 4th, and Thursday his wife who had been in poor health for several years died. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the Civil War, one of the first to enlist from Bakersfield in Co. G, 2nd Vermont. Their funeral was largely attended Sunday afternoon and both were buried in one grave.
