Luther Ames died at the Soldiers' home hospital Sunday of a complication of diseases. He was 71 years of age and was admitted to the home from Wilmington last July. A good share of the time had been spent in the hospital. He served during the rebellion in Co. F, 4th Vt. Vols. He will be buried in the home cemetery.
