Henry G. Ely of St. Johnsbury died Thursday evening following an operation for appendicitis a week ago. Mr. Ely was born in Littleton, N.H., Jan. 2, 1842, where his early life was spent. He went to St. Johnsbury in 1865 and has been prominent in banking and business affairs there since. He was a veteran of the Civil war and since 1876 has been connected with the Ely Fork and Hoe company of St. Johnsbury, as manager.
