Simeon Hatch, a veteran of Co. H, 6th Vt. Vols. and a charter member of Hall Post, G.A.R., died at his home on Hampshire hill Saturday night last. Mr. Hatch had been an invalid for years, in fact had never been well since the war. Of late years, he has been almost totally blind. He leaves a wife and six children. Dr. Kemp of the examining board of surgeons at Montpelier examined Mr. Hatch on Thursday by order of the pension department at Washington. It was another case of "too late." Mr. Hatch has been drawing $4 per month, vainly trying for years to get an increase.
