Prescott R. Haven

Rutland Daily Herald, Nov. 11, 1911:

The funeral of Prescott R. Haven of No. 110 Park avenue, who died of Bright's disease yesterday morning at 6:35 o'clock, will be held at the house Monday morning at 9:45 o'clock. The body will be taken to Ludlow, Mr. Haven's former home, for burial. Mr. Haven had been unfitted for work by illness for 12 years, and had been confined to the house almost constantly for the last six months.

Prescott R. Haven was born in Ludlow 71 years ago. He married there Miss Alvina Russell, and came to Rutland 28 years ago. He was employed as a teamster until illness overtook him.

Mr. Haven was a member of Roberts post, G.A.R., of this city, having joined company C of the Second Vermont regiment as a nine-months' man, at Brattleboro. He was one of a family of eight, all of whom are dead, with the exception of a brother, Stoughton Haven, of Necedah, Wis. Mr. Haven's wife survives him, and also a niece, Miss Kate Sherwin of Lebanon, N.H.
