BIOGRAPHY
THOMAS HODGKINSON enlisted at Colchester in September. '62, in Company D. He was a tall, thin man, approaching 40 years of age, and living entirely within himself. Not inclined to be social he seemed more contented when standing guard at a post far removed, and in self communion to be entirely satisfied. He was prompt at roll call, faithful in discharge of any duty to which assigned, cool in battle, and made a thoroughly good soldier. He was discharged with the regiment, and has not since been heard' of, at least by the writer.
