Death of John Jeffrey
John Jeffrey, 78, of West Swanzey, died Friday afternoon about 2:30 o'clock at the home of his son. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having enlisted in the 16th Vermont Volunteers in Brattleboro.
He leaves one son, Ambrose Jeffrey of West Swanzey, two brother, Peter Jeffery and Edward Jeffrey, the latter of Chester, and three sisters, Mrs. Selina Bell of Westminster, Mrs. Malvina Deupoint of Elmira, N.Y., and Mrs. Catherine Morris of Westminster.
The funeral was held at the home in West Swanzey Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock. The body was to be taken to Bellows Falls, for burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
