Death of Civil War Veteran

Theron T. Lamphere, aged 59 years, a veteran of the Civil War and a prominent Republican in the town of Calais, died Monday after a long illness of kidney trouble. Mr. Lamphere served in Co. E, 8th Vt. Vols., during the Civil War. For several years he resided in Montpelier but had lived in Calais for the past twenty-two years. He represented Calais in the legislature of 1900 and had filled nearly every office in the gift of his townsmen in Calais.
