Leander C. Leavens, whose funeral was held Sunday at his home in Richford, was a veteran of the Civil war, represented Berkshire in the Legislature in 1880, was deputy collector of customs in Richford from 1880 to 1884, treasurer for 25 years of the Richford Savings Bank and Trust company, until he resigned in February, 1919, was on the staff of William P. Dillingham when he was governor and in 1894 represented Franklin county in the Senate.
