ENGLISH L. MAYNARD

Last Civil War Veteran in Fair Haven Dies At 90

RUTLAND, Sept. 24. English L. Maynard, 90, last Civil War veteran in Fair Haven, died at his home there today, leaving only two survivors of the Civil War alive in Rutland county. Maynard fought at Gettysburg and was among the soldiers who helped stop Pickett's charge. He had looked forward to attending the anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg next year.
