Death of Constant S. Merrick

Constant S. Merrick, of East Swanton, aged 83 years, died last evening at 10 o'clock of old age. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at he house. Mr. Merrick was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted December 11, 1861, was mustered into service February 18, 1862, and discharged for disability August 22, 1862. He was a member of Co. F, 8th Vt. Vols., of which Hiran E. Perkins, of this city, was for a time captain.
