William H. Gilchrist, 81, one of Barnet's leading citizens, died at his home in McIndoes Dec. 1 He was a veteran of the Civil war, a merchant in McIndoes for many years, at one time associate judge of Caledonia county court, and the holder of many offices in Barnet, besides being active in the Odd Fellows lodge and Knights of Pythias. For many years he was vice president of the National Bank of Woodsville.
