Obituary

CHESTER

Joseph Olney, aged 88, and a life long resident of this town, died at his home three miles west of this village last Tuesday of throat trouble. The funeral was held Thursday at the home, Rev. Henry L. Ballou, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery. A wife, three sons, Luke of Melrose, Mass., Amos and Frank, and a daughter, Stella, of Chester survive. Mr. Olney was a member of company F. 16th Vermont infantry, in the Civil war and was formerly a member of Henry post, G. A. R.
