Austin S. Parkhurst, of Pittsfield, age 20, enlisted 2/23/64, mustered in as a private in Co. D 17th Vermont Infantry; was wounded at Petersburg 6/17/64, and taken prisoner 9/30/64 at Poplar Spring Church. He joined the CSA while a prisoner 12/13/64.
