Obituary

Richard Russell, of Springfield, committed suicide last week by taking strychnine, after making an unsuccessful attempt to murder his wife. He was a man of intemperate habits, and when on a spree has attempted to take his life several times.

Richard K. Russell, who attempted to kill his wife and then committed suicide last week, had been partially deranged for some months. Insanity is hereditary in the family, and his father and grandfather both committed suicide at an advanced age.
