Funeral of E. P. Saunders

The funeral of E. P. Saunders was held Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. M. Regan and the service was conducted by Rev. W. J. Ballou. Mr. Saunders was about 75 years old and was a veteran of the Civil war. He was in company A. 7th regiment, Vermont volunteers, and served three years and two days. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Dr. And Mrs. Stewart and Steven Saunders of Wallingford and Mr. And Mrs. Leffingwell of Middletown. The bearers were C. J. Hubbard, J. C. Gleason, Charles Josselyn and Norris Butterfield. Burial was in the village cemetery.
