JAMES SHANLEY born in Lowell, Mass., enlisted from Moretown. He was 20 years old, 5 ft. 7 1/2 in. in height, solid built, light complexion, blue eyes and light hair. I do not remember that he was sick during his term of service or that there was any special incident to distinguish him from other soldiers who did their duty well.
