Obituary

STANNARD

The death of Calvin J. Shepard occurred Friday morning, May 11, at his home here. He had been ill since February, at times able to go out, but confined to his bed several weeks at the last. He is survived by his wife and six children, Mrs. Mabel Woodard of Walden, Mrs. Nellie E. Bates of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Nettie E. French of Schenectady, N. Y., Hattie M. Jackson of Hardwick, Harley J., and Elmer M. Shepard, of this place. Mr. Shepard was born May 10, 1838, was a veteran of the civil war, a member of Burnside Post, G.A.R., also a charter member of the I. O. G. T. in this place. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church, Rev. N. A. Ross, officiating.
