Lycurgus Strong

Bellows Falls

Lycurgus Strong died suddenly of heart failure, Thursday of last week, and funeral services were held Saturday, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Strong was born in Weathersfield, May 1, 1838. At the opening of the civil war he enlisted as private and served three years. He was a carpenter and had been a resident here since 1885. Was a member of E. H. Stoughton post, G.A.R. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Cota of Brattleboro, a son, Fred Strong of Bellows Falls, and a brother, Harland Strong of Detroit, Mich.
