Civil War Veteran Dies At Home of Son In Whiting – Funeral Tuesday
MIDDLEBURY, Jan. 27. – Frederick Clayton Swenor died yesterday at the home of his son, Clarence Swenor, in Whiting. He was a Civil War Veteran and was born at Chazy, N.Y., on March 28, 1844.
He is survived by two brothers, John Swenor of Middlebury and Abraham Swenor of Burlington; four sons, Clarence and Frank of Whiting, Clifford of Orwell and Frederick of Shoreham; two daughters, Sophia of Hartford, Conn., and Mrs. Leo Ryan of Whiting; 28 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Genevieve's Church, Shoreham, with burial in St. Genevieve's cemetery.
