In the personal column:

H. L. Vondell showed the Journal reporter a bullet this week, which struck his father, H. L. Vondell, Sr., at the battle of the Wilderness in Virginia in 1864. The senior Vondell was a native of Woodstock and a member of Company A, 6th Vermont Infantry. The bullet remained in Mr. Vondell's body for several years after the close of the war and was finally located by a young doctor who was treating him.
