Dexter Waite, aged 83, died suddenly at his home in Wardsboro Tuesday as he was preparing to retire for the night. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. He was a native of Swanton, but most of his life was spent in Wardsboro, where he formerly ran a hotel and livery stable and served as postmaster. He was interested in politics and attended 10 Republican state conventions as a delegate.
