John C. Condon, 73, a Civil war veteran and member of E.K. Wilcox Grand Army post died Thursday night at Springfield hospital after a long illness. He was born in Hinesburg, Vt., and had lived in Springfield for more than 40 years. His home was at 18 Phoenix street. Mr. Condon served throughout the civil war as a member of battery C, 59th artillery. He was honorably discharged in 1865. At one time he was postal transfer clerk at the railroad station here. He leaves a daughter, Miss Clara l. Condon of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Bissonette of Hinesburg, Vt.Courtesy of Tom Boudreau.
