Obituary

RANDOLPH

Funeral of John Brown Was Held Monday in Brookfield.

The funeral of John Brown, who died Saturday, was held Monday in Brookfield where interment was made, the post of the G.A.R. having charge and the Rev. Fraser Metzger offering prayer. Mr. Brown had reached the age of 63 years and served in the Massachusetts regiment during the Civil War and was wounded three times in battle. He was a native of Lynn, Mass., and worked as a stone mason in Boston but later removed to Brookfield where he resided till within about 7 years when he came to this village for a permanent home. About two weeks ago his wife died and deceased is survived by one sister, living in Massachusetts, who is his only near relative.
