Civil War Veteran and Longtime Resident of Northfield.

Northfield, July 25. - Anson Adams, age 74 years, died at his home on Pearl street yesterday of illness lasting over a period of years. For the past two weeks, it was known that he could not live, and his death was looked for at any time. Mr. Adams was long a resident of this town and during his active life worked at the carpenter trade. He was a veteran of the Civil war and a member of the G. A. R. He is survived by a sister, Miss Fannie Adams of Pittsfield. The funeral will be held today, with burial in Elmwood cemetery.
