Dr. George H. Spafford, 71, who died Sunday in Cavendish, practiced in Windham years ago and while there married Miss Sophia Jones, who died 30 years ago. Two children were born to them, a son and a daughter, the latter being the only survivor of the family. Dr. Spafford was assistant surgeon in the 16th Vermont regiment in the civil war. He had lived in Cavendish since 1878.
