St. Johnsbury, June 25. - The funeral of Alvin W. Adams was held today at his late home. Mr. Adams was formerly a prominent resident of Newport where he enlisted in Company B, 9th Vermont, in the Civil war and was a past commander of the Newport G.A.R. post.
