Orville E. Allen

Orville E. Allen died at his home on the Shelburne road early Friday morning after along illness. The funeral will be held at the house Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Mr. Allen was born in Underhill November 12, 1844, being a son of Charles and Cornelia Woodruff Allen. At the outbreak of the War of the Rebellion he enlisted in Co. A, from Williston, December 2, 1861, and re-enlisted February 15, 1864. He was mustered out February 15, 1866 and during his service participated in every battle of his regiment. Of late Mr. Allen had been a farmer in Shelburne, moving some time ago to his present home on the Shelburne road. He is survived by a wife and a daughter, Mrs. Maurice Nott of Hartford, Conn.
