Death of William Armstrong, a Veteran of the Civil War
William Armstrong died at his home here Friday, August 9, at the age of 69 years. He was the son of William Armstrong and was born in Peacham. He was a soldier in the Civil War serving in Co. H, 4th Vermont. In 1864 he married Martha Lane of this place, who is left to mourn his loss besides his brother John of this place, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Varnum of Iowa, besides several other relatives. He was an honest, upright man and will be missed in the community.
