William Bailey, 82, Civil War Veteran, Dies

William Bailey, 82, a civil war veteran died very suddenly of heart trouble Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Davis, near this village. He had been living by himself in Bondville until about a week ago, when his physician said it was not safe for him to be alone and he went to his daughter's. The funeral was held there at 1:30 o'clock Thursday, the Rev. E. S. Vandenburg officiating. Burial was at Berkshire. The bearers were Myron Dow, Charles Skeels, Hayes Bailey and Benjamin Davis. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles Skeels of Sheldon, Mrs. William Perry of Bakersfield, Mrs. Davis and one somewhere in the West, also a son, Hayes Bailey of Samsonville.
