BETHEL

Elisha P. Boutwell, Civil War Veteran, Dies Funeral Today Elisha P. Boutwell, a veteran of the Civil War and active member of H. H. Baxter Post, No. 11, G.A.R., died Saturday at his home in Gaysville after a few days' illness with bronchial pneumonia. He was born in Stockbridge and spent his whole life in that town except during his service in Company H, 16th Vermont regiment. Four years ago he attended the great reunion at the field of Gettysburg, in which battle he had participated fifty years earlier. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A, L, Dinsmore of his village and Miss Lura Boutwell his housekeeper for many years. Six members of the immediate family, three brothers and three sisters, have died during the last 12 years. Mr. Boutwell was a farmer and a bachelor. The funeral will be held this afternoon at one o'clock, the Rev. J. Wesley Miller officiating, with interment at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
