Carol and Mark Felone, of Mendon Mass., have the following memorabilia collected by Carol's great-grandfather, Almer Montague, who served in both the 13th Infantry and 1st Cavalry.

Three pieces of wood from the rail of the house Lee surrendered in-piece blotter paper-leaves of locust tree-all of these were taken at Appomattox Court house with a note from Almer dated Apr. 30, 1865 explaining how he acquired them.
