Hoxey Constant Rogers

Hoxey Constant Rogers, aged 18, enlisted from Mount Holly on May 7, 1861, and mustered in as a private in Company I, Second Vermont Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded at Fredericksburg on 13 December 1862. He re-enlisted on December 21, 1863, was promoted to Corporal on August 4, 1864 and subsequently Sergeant on November 7, 1864. He was mustered out at the end of the war on July 15, 1865.
Hoxey's wife, Teresa Emery Rogers, wrote several poems about the war, which can be found in the poetry section.
